| Jon MacManus (Hiker, climber, ultra-runner and artist) Although Jon had previous art experience at College, in Tucson, during the early 70s he quit producing entirly for 25 years to raise a family. He is an extreemly detailed pen and ink artist more recently using water colors to add color to his realistic pen and ink drawings. Subjects include linemen, trucks, landscapes, buildings, animals and people. Targeting large companies and small businesses, Jon designs and produces custom greeting cards featuring his artwork for his customers at Christmas and other occasions. Most of his business is from repeat customers who appreciate the original artwork specific to their trade setting them apart from competitors who either send out more generic cards or none at all . Jon has also been comissioned by builders to do artist renditions of their projects with background landscapes. Homeowners and busiess owners alike commision Jon to draw and paint their buildings. He rarely can do a drawing without wondering and researching a bit about the history of the subject he is drawing. To finish out a peice, Jon frequently writes a discription including an interesting twist on the history of his subject. Jon's work can be seen with increasing frequency in some of the resturants and Galleries around Salida, Colorado, where he resides. | |
